BACKSTAGE WITH A PROFESSIONAL DANCER DANCING: A DISRUPTED LIFE
Admiration for dance performances is a sentiment shared by the audiences and dancers. While a fleeting performance may bring a performer and audience together, it is rare for a spectator to see behind the scene, where physical and mental strength transform a dancer’s body into a dance. Anna Elena, an accomplished European dancer, will broach the many aspects of the profession, as well as emotional ups and downs.
By Anna Elena, dancer with the Opera of Marseilles, the ballet at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, the Landestheater in Linz, and finally the Paris Opera. The talk will be followed by a screening ofLa danse, le ballet de l'Opéra de Paris by Frederick Wiseman at 7:30pm.
