‘Tapa’ Diarra est née à Kayes, au Mali. Elle est la descendante d’une longue lignée de griots. Elle a hérité de la voix de sa mère : Kandia Kouyate et des talents de son père Bouya Diarra, un griot Bambara, grand danseur traditionnel d’Afrique de l’Ouest.

Djely Sountougoumba ‘Tapa’ Diarra was born in Kayes, Mali and is a descendant from a long line of griots. She is blessed with the voice of her mother Kandia Kouyate and the talents of her Bambara griot father Bouya Diarra, a great traditional dancer of West Africa.
