Adam Solomon
Known as "The Professor”, JUNO award-winning Kenyan-born Adam Solomon combines traditional acoustic African blues and jazz, with traditional coastal East African rhythms. A highly respected master guitarist, composer and vocalist, Adam sings in English, Swahili, and Mijikenda (the Nine Tribes from Mombasa on the Kenyan coast). Celebrated for his unique African renaissance blues style, Adam’s guitar method mirrors the sound of the ancient goatskin stringed instruments of the Mijikenda such as the Bunguu.
Moskitto Bar
Tangi Ropars, Fethi Nadjem, Yura Rafaliu and Ahmed Moneka take us on a voyage from from Baghdad to Brittany, combining Middle Eastern, Balkan, Ukrainian, and French influences. Accordion, violin, mondol, cymbalm, percussion and vocals combine in a unique deep soul, gypsy, Celtic and Middle Eastern mashup. The trio of Tangi, Yura and Ahmed first came together jamming in the woods at the OM festival as the mosquitos feasted on them. The group has played frequently since often collaborating with artists from different musical traditions.
