Née à Saigon en 1968, Kim Thúy a quitté le Vietnam avec les boat people à l’âge de dix ans et s’est installée avec sa famille au Québec. Diplômée en traduction et en droit, l’auteure a travaillé comme couturière, interprète, avocate, propriétaire de restaurant et chroniqueuse culinaire pour la radio et la télévision. Elle vit à Montréal et se consacre à l’écriture.

Born in Saigon in 1968, Kim Thúy left Vietnam with the boat people at the age of ten and settled with her family in Quebec. A graduate in translation and law, the author has worked as a seamstress, performer, lawyer, restaurant owner and food and television columnist. She lives in Montreal and devotes herself to writing.
