Lettres, messages, confessions, poèmes, journal intime... Frida Kahlo s'est écrite comme elle s'est peinte. Au cours d'un spectacle aux allures de fiesta, mariachi à l'appui, Sophie Faucher plonge tête première dans l'univers littéraire et musical de cette femme de génie, figure marquante de la peinture mexicaine. Ses écrits, contrairement à ses tableaux, n'étaient pas destinés au grand public. Je t’écrirai toujours avec mes yeux, disait-elle. Voilà donc un regard intimiste retraçant l'existence de Frida peintre, Frida blessée dans son corps, Frida militante, Frida amoureuse des êtres et des mots.

Letters, messages, confessions, poems, diary... Frida Kahlo wrote as she depicted herself in her paintings. During a fies-ta-like performance, with Mariachi to back it up, Sophie Faucher plunges head-long into the literary and musical universe of this woman of genius, a prominent fig-ure in Mexican painting. Her writings, unlike her paintings, were not intended for the general public. “I shall always write to you with my eyes,” she said. So here is an intimist look tracing the exist-ence of Frida the painter, Frida wounded in body, Frida the militant, Frida in love with human beings and words.
