À travers la lecture des albums Frida, La reine des couleurs, et Frida, c'est moi (éditions EDITO) par leur autrice, Sophie Faucher, les enfants auront l’occasion de découvrir Frida Kahlo et son destin hors-du-commun. À la suite de la lecture, l'illustratrice Cara Carmina, invitera les familles à entrer dans l'univers richement coloré, s’inspirant des toiles présentes dans le texte, et chacun pourra créer son autoportrait façon Frida Kahlo, au crayon ou au feutre.

Frida, la reine des couleurs :
Alors qu’elle prépare la fête des enfants avec Tonito, Frida découvre que son ami ne distingue pas les couleurs. Pour Frida, la vie sans couleurs est impensable. Elle entraîne son ami dans leur quartier de Coyoacá, et lui raconte le monde avec ses propres yeux. Le résultat sera drôle et inattendu! Une très belle histoire pour parler de la différence, avec la voix unique de Sophie Faucher et les illustrations tout aussi inimitables de Cara Carmina!
Frida, c’est moi :
Dans ce livre destiné à un jeune public, Sophie Faucher prête sa voix à Frida l'enfant qui se raconte à travers les joies et les peines de son quotidien. Les textes profonds, empreints d'une naïveté désarmante et d'une grande tendresse sont magnifiés par les illustrations richement colorées de Cara Carmina. Voici une histoire qui incite à la réflexion sur l'acceptation de soi, au respect de la différence, tout en suscitant une émotion inattendue et un grand désir d'en connaître davantage sur cette femme et artiste d'exception.
Qui est Sophie Faucher ?
Sophie Faucher est comédienne, auteure, animatrice, elle connaît une carrière prolifique. Que ce soit au cinéma (Ding et Dong, Laurence Anyways), au théâtre (Antigone, Marie Stuart) ou à la télévision (Le cœur a ses raisons, Tohu-Bohu), son visage et sa voix sont bien connus du public québécois. En 2016, elle publie l’album jeunesse Frida, c’est moi aux éditions Édito, puis en 2017, Moi, c’est Frida Kahlo, tous deux illustrés par Cara Carmina.
Qui est Cara Carmina ?
Cara Carmina est illustratrice et designer d’origine mexicaine, installée à Montréal depuis 2009. Elle est la créatrice d’un univers à l’effigie de Frida Kahlo, composé d’illustrations et de papeterie destinées aux enfants, ainsi que d’une ligne d’articles de mode et de poupées faites à la main. Tous colorés et pleins d’amour!

Through the reading the albums Frida, La reine des couleurs, and Frida, c'est moi (EDITO editions) by their author, Sophie Faucher, children will have the opportunity to discover Frida Kahlo and her extraordinary destiny. Following the reading session, illustrator Cara Carmina will invite families to enter a richly colored universe, inspired by the canvases present in the text, and everyone will be able to create their own Frida Kahlo-style self-portrait, using pencils or felt-tip pens.

Who is Sophie Faucher ?
Sophie Faucher is an actress, author, host, she has had a prolific career. Whether at the cinema (Ding and Dong, Laurence Anyways), at the theater (Antigone, Marie Stuart) or on television (The heart has its reasons, Tohu-Bohu), her face and her voice are well known to the public in Quebec. In 2016, she published the youth album Frida, c'est moi with Éditions Édito, then in 2017, Moi, c'est Frida Kahlo, both illustrated by Cara Carmina.
Who is Cara Carmina ?
Cara Carmina is an illustrator and designer of Mexican origin, installed in Montreal since 2009. She is the creator of a universe in effigie of Frida Kahlo, composed of illustrations and stationery intended for children, as well as a line fashion items and handmade dolls. All colorful and full of love!
